Japan – Okinawa

Seascape of sparkling blue sea is what attracts us to the island.

Our journey started at Naha City. Explored the UNESCO World Heritage Shuri Castle. Munch our way through the different streets of Kokusai Dori. Spent a day relaxing at Nagannu Island. At the America village, we had Taco rice as dinner. Enjoy the sea breeze at Cape Zanpa, Cape Mazda, Cape Manzamou and Cape Hedo. Observe the whale shark dancing at Churaumi Aquarium. River hike along the Henan river to Tataki waterfalls. Scenic drive along Kaichu doro and around Kouri island. Hands-on weaving experience at Okinawa World.

Okinawa cuisine is very different compared to mainland Japan. Soba, braised pork belly, stir-fried bitter melon, taco rice, and umibudo (sea-grape) are some of the must-try dishes. At Kokusai Dori, do grab yourself a sweet purple potatoes pastry and salt ice cream.
