Khao Yai
Jim Thompson Farm, open only in December yearly, is about 2 hours drive from the hotel. Drive into some very remote area without any mobile signal make us feel worried at times. As we approach the destination, the traffic gets more congested. The farm’s parking area is full, meaning the farm is indeed a popular destination for the locals as well.

The entrance fee costs 180 Baht/person. The farm occupied 600 rai of land. It also provides a free farm cart ride to bring visitors to various parts of the farm. The first stop is the pumpkin land, in which different sizes of pumpkins are displayed all over the field.
Another eye-catching site is the bright orange flower plot nearby.
The colorful flower plot surrounded us, with the blue sky above, what a perfect day to be at the farm enjoying nature.
Besides the flowery plot, there are some traditional tools to educate visitors on how the older generations live and their culture. Visitors can even get some hand-on on these tools.
One of the traditional hut house some live silkworm and also display their life-cycle.

We spent the morning stroll around the farm, enjoying the nature surrounding and also took many photos.
The next stop was our lunch stop. But the driver bought us to another place with the same name. We were surprised and worried at the same time as its quite remote. Eventually, we proceed to the well-known Ban Mai Chay Nam Restaurant, a hidden gem by the river. The vintage collection in the shop was fascinating. It served traditional Thai food where diners can dine with a river view.
Sunflowers are blooming everywhere in the Khao Yai area.

We had our dinner at the modern restaurant, The Chocolate Factory. A two-level building, level one selling chocolate products, and bakery items, the eatery on level two.
