The turquoise-green lake of Plitvice drew our attention to Croatia.
The lively capital, Zagreb, has its charm that often overlooked by many. We spent a day exploring this hidden gem. On the northwest corner of Croatia, Istria is full of wonders from the romantic coastal town of Rovinj, picturesque hill town to Roman ruins in Pula. The Cathedral of Saint James in Sibenik to the Sea Organ in Zadar are some of the architectural highlights along the Dalmatian Coast. Split is another city where the modern and history meet. Be an early bird with a camera and walk the old city wall of Dubrovnik, also known as The Pearl of Adriatic.
There are eight National Parks in Croatia. Plitvice is one of the most visited, to beat the crowds, get started the moment the gate is opened. Another spectacular waterfall is Krka National Park. For a different experience, Paklenica is our choice.
