Plitvice Lakes National Park > Rastoke
We reached Plitvice Lakes National Park entrance 1 as soon as the gate opened to beat the crowd.

Start our hike at the Lower Lakes. Be rewarded with the breathtaking view right after you entered the park.

We walked down the twisted route to the boardwalk trails.
Get sprayed at the spectacular Veliki Slap, the big waterfall.

At the early hour, the park is quiet and peaceful. It is the best time for some pretty snapshots.

Back to the main trail and take a detour to the dark cave. Ascend further to the higher ground. The climb was tedious and yet worth every drop of sweat with the perspective scenery.

Careful with the steps when you made the way down.
Continue walking on the boardwalk with the endless picturesque view. Enjoy the morning breeze with the beautiful turquoise lakes.

We followed the boat icon to the P3 dock. The area is also a resting area with toilets and restaurants.

Cruise across Lake Kozjak, the biggest lake in the park, and arrived at the bottom of the Upper Lakes.
From P2 dock, climbed up the stepped boardwalk. We came across amazing fallen trees and walked above the fast running water.

The picturesque of the Upper Lakes were very much different compared to the Lower Lakes.
A few series of waterfalls awaited for us. Feel the mist for a better experience. Thought the volume of water is not as much, the falls are still as amazing.

Continue our journey at the boardwalk to the top of the Upper Lakes. Enjoy the peaceful nature surrounding along the way.

We took a simple lunch at the ST3 area before boarding the free shuttle bus to entrance 2(ST2).

Flash the tickets to the park ranger to re-enter the park. Walk down the slope for the boat service back to P3.

From the dock, instead of retracing back the trail this morning, take the uphills path. The forest route leads to the upper cliffs along the western side of the park. Unlike the boardwalk path, the forest trail is quiet and rustic. Be stunned by the panoramic view overlooking the park along the route.

Do walk till the Vidikovac, the final viewpoint for the stunning scenes.

Detour back to the top of Veliki Slap point and walked down the steps. Many visitors filled the boardwalk path; people are queueing for a photo with the big waterfall. We were glad that we reach the park early to avoid the crowds.

The total time of exploring the park is roughly 8 hours.
Rastoke, a small town with its ecosystem of mini waterfalls, is about half an hour drive away.

Explore the complex of Slovin Unique Rastoke for its mill, traditional house as well as waterfalls. We find the place not well maintained and thus not worth the dollars.
Leisure walks around the town for more water running underneath the house picturesque.
We drove back to the inn before the sunset. Again, we had our dinner there.
Overnight at Plitvice Miric Inn
