Mostar > Jablanica > Konjic > Sarajevo
The breakfast served at the mansion was appetizing. The choices not wide varieties but were fulfilling.
The scenic journey from Mostar to Sarajevo includes some interesting historical sights and twisting between the riverbanks and cliffs.
Eating grilled lamb was a must on this road trip. Located along the road, restaurant Kovacevic is one of the popular choices. The meat was grilled to perfection, juicy and melt in the mouth.
Visited the “Battle of the Neretva” site where Tito and his wounded army won the battle against the Nazis through Tito’s brilliant tactics.
Our original plan in Konjic was to visit one of Tito’s most secret bunkers but seem to lose in our direction. In the end, we give up. To get some stretch, we walk around the Konjic town before continuing our journey toward Sarajevo.
Sarajevo War Tunnel Museum, located at the southwestern outskirts, is the house that witnessed the siege. The locals spent four months and four days digging a tunnel below the airport runway. They were able to get their necessities back to the city through the tunnel and also get the wounded treated.

Hotel Igman, built for the Winter Olympic Games in 1984, is now an abandoned building due to the Siege of Sarajevo.

Wind up the road to the White Bastion viewpoint overlooking the town and the surrounding mountains.
We ordered a grilled veal and a soup for our dinner at Klopa. The staffs are friendly, explaining their house specialty to every table. The restaurant ambiance is cozy and homely.
Overnight at Hotel Michele
Hotel Michele is about 10 minutes uphill walk from the town. We stayed in the suite located at the highest level. The room is super spacious and decorated with antique furniture. Depending on the vehicle type, you may need to park the car at the nearby paid public carpark.
