The drive to Cape Bruny Lighthouse, located on the southern tip of the island, is 40 minutes from the hotel. The scenic drive is mostly on the unsealed road and thus added some adventure to our holiday.

Visit the museum and get to see some of the marine artifacts.

Follow the route uphill to reach the lighthouse main door. The panoramic view of the South Bruny coastline is spectacular. The lighthouse, built in 1836, is 114m tall. We joined a guided tour to climb the spiral staircase to the top and hear more about its history.

Inala Jurassic Garden is a botanical garden. Take a relaxing stroll and enjoy the colorful flora around the park. Inala is a great place to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Continue our drive toward the North Bruny for some gourmet hunt.

Bruny Island Honey has over a thousand hives and is constantly on the move as the bees go wherever the flower bloom. Leatherwood honey is one of their best sellers.

Have some locally made cheese tasting at the Bruny Island Cheese Company. This place is a MUST when you visit the island. We tried their cheese platter that comes with organic wood-fired sourdough bread.

Due to low harvest, Get Shucked Oyster Bar is closed. A bit disappointed as we were unable to taste the fresh oyster. Drove to the terminal and took the vehicle ferry back to Kettering.

A late lunch at the Seawall, which is just within minutes drive from the ferry terminal. This sea-facing restaurant has a lovely ambiance. We had a very fresh seafood meal.

Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, will be our next stop. To explore the city at a slower pace and to have the best chance to see the southern light, we planned to stay in Hobart for four nights.
