thin layer of ice form on car

A freezing morning. A thin layer of ice formed on the surface of the car.

Soon after the sun was out, we started our journey to the next destination.

Farm along the road toward Dips Fall

Dip Falls, located Northwest of Tasmania in the Dip River Forest Reserve, is a unique waterfall, unlike others. The two-tiered waterfall flowed on the unique geological formation, a black cubic-formed rock wall.

From the carpark, we were only a few meters from the upper tiers of the waterfall.

Walk down the stairs to get a great view of the falls from its side. Continue the descent to another viewing platform on its base.
To get a picture of the fall from the top, walk across the bridge to the other side.

Continue the road trip to Stanley, where we spend a night.

Stanley, located on the Northwest coast of Tasmania, is a romantic small town famous for its volcanic plug called The Nut.

As it is Father’s Day in Australia, we hardly found a place to dine without making a reservation. Thus, we head to the supermarket to grab some takeaways hot food for our lunch.

An easy and relaxed method to explore the top of The Nut is taking the chairlift. (The cost is AUD$19/per adult return) In just 5 minutes, ones easily reach the top of this ancient volcanic plug.

Standing at 150 meters above the sea, you can have a 360-degree view of the beautiful coastline and the town of Stanley. Explore the surrounding for the unique florals as well as different vegetation. Capture the breathtaking views as we stroll along. You can walk the track in either direction, which will take about an hour to complete.

Head to the Highfield Lookout Point for one of the best views of The Nut. Relax by the beach before exploring the small town on foot.

Hursey Seafood, the most famous restaurant at Stanley, is known for its fresh seafood and lobsters. Do make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Another chance of Aurora sighting and the best spot at Stanley is the Highfield lookout. Do keep a lookout for wildlife when driving in the dark.
