A lovely morning walk from the garden to the river bank. Walk around the cottage to find a wide variety of birds flying around the area.

Beaconsfield Gold Mine & Heritage Centre is an interactive museum where you can touch and play with the display from the past. As a city person, it is fun and eye-opener to see these antiques.

Drive across the Batman bridge, which is just 10 minutes away, and turn into the reserves to have a better view of the bridge by River Taman.

Back to the town for lunch at Chef Catch Cafe before visiting the Platypus House and Seahorse World.

Platypus House housed the egg-laying mammals, Platypus and Echidna.

Platypus mostly stays in rivers, lakes, or ponds. It spends most of its time diving for food, leaving bubbles and ripples to show its presence. Male platypus is venomous and capable of causing severe pain to humans. It is hard to find a wild platypus. At Platypus House, we can see the platypus up close and witness its hunting capabilities.

Echidnas are sometimes known as spiny anteaters, which feed on ants and termites. They have sensitive hearing that allows them to find food beneath the soils or tunnels within the timber. We had another unique experience with the echidnas family at the Platypus House.

At Seahorse World, it is another fascinating experience. A wide variety of seahorse species as well as other sea creatures. Witness the many Potbelly Seahorses, its newborn, and the different growing stages of seahorses at The Farm gallery.

In the late afternoon, we head to the Narawntapu National Park. From the visitor’s center to the camping site, many Bennetts Wallabies and Pademelons hopped around. The grassland near the visitor center is also home to the Boxing Kangaroos. The park is one of the few places in Tasmania where boxing kangaroos stay.

Before the sky turned dark, we departed the park and had dinner at the waterfront hotel near the cottages.
